Background: Low Birth Weight (LBW) babies have a high risk of experiencing difficulties in maintaining body temperature and weight. Kangaroo Care Method (KMC) is an effective intervention to improve the health and growth of LBW babies through direct skin contact with the mother. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a sample of 30 respondents at Kuprik Community Health Center. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi Square statistical test. Results: The results showed that 16 respondents (53.3%) received good family support, 18 respondents (60%) obtained information sources from health workers, and 15 respondents (50%) carried out kangaroo care method routinely. Data analysis obtained p = 0.003 (<0.05) so there is a significant relationship between family support and the implementation of kangaroo care method. and p = 0.012 (<0.05) indicates a significant relationship between information sources and the implementation of kangaroo care. Conclusion: Family support and good information sources play an important role in the successful implementation of kangaroo care. It is hoped that the Community Health Center can develop educational strategies and family empowerment to improve the implementation of kangaroo care for LBW infants.
